Inter Milan are reportedly “ready to sell” full-back Denzel Dumfries this summer amid interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.

Dumfries’ reputation has grown tenfold over the past two seasons. He was a mainstay at PSV for over three years until the end of the 2020/21 campaign.

The powerful right-back shone for the Netherlands in the delayed European Championships last summer.

The biggest story in English football after an incredible Euro victory? Man Utd target will cost £16m more

The 26-year-old was linked with Everton last summer, although he ended up moving to Inter Milan. Considering how Everton’s season has gone, it turned out to be a wise move.

Dumfries has shown how dangerous he can be in the future as he managed to bag five goals and four assists for Inter Milan in Serie A.

His contract runs until 2025 and he has already established himself as a key player for the Italian side.

Despite this, according to Calcio Mercato (via Sport Witness), the Italian side does not consider Dumfries to be “unsaleable”.

The report claims Chelsea have ‘set their sights’ on Dumfries this summer, while Man Utd are also keen to sign him.

Inter Milan reportedly want €40m to sell the Dutchman this summer after spending €15m to land him last year.

If Chelsea are able to seal the signing, Thomas Tuchel could start playing current right-back Reece James as a right centre-back in his preferred 3-4-3 formation.

The Blues and Man Utd are also said to be in dispute for the services of Frenkie de Jong.

The fight for his signature has already gone on too long, although it doesn’t seem to be getting closer to a conclusion.

United have agreed a €75m fee with Barcelona to sign De Jong, but mixed reports emerged regarding his desire to move to Manchester.

This seems to have alerted Tuchel’s side. Whether Spanish Sport Release are to be believed, De Jong ‘would only agree to leave if it was for Chelsea’.

The Blues have their own problems as they ‘don’t pay as much’ as United plan to do for De Jong. So buckle up for some deadline day drama. A transaction sheet may be needed for this one.

Chelsea have signed two players so far this summer following Todd Boehly’s takeover. Around £85million has been spent to sign Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly from Man City and Napoli respectively.
