chelsea are favorites to sign Cristiano Ronaldo next January Sunday’s explosive interview where the player actually cut ties at Old Trafford.

The club’s top earner Ronaldo played a small role under new manager Erik ten Hag, whom the 37-year-old says he will ‘never respect’, and was recently fined two weeks’ wages and forced to train with the reserves after refusing to play against Tottenham.

In a shock interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Ronaldo accused the Ten Hags and “a couple of guys around the club” of trying to force him out, insisting fans “should know the truth”.

Ronaldo is unlikely to play for United again, just over a year after a much-loved return to Old Trafford, described by some as a ‘homecoming’.

According to Betfair, Chelsea, who considered signing Ronaldo this summer, are the likeliest destination for the Portuguese star. At the time, head coach Thomas Tuchel dismissed the idea, so it remains to be seen whether new manager Graham Potter sees things differently if another approach is taken.
