Nearly 50 activities are planned to kick off the Spring 2022 events hosted by the Wimberley Community Civic Club on January 20, including select events in Dripping Springs.

Activities spanning February through May begin February 5 with a CPR course taught by Cathy Montgomery of Wimberley EMS. Highlights of the spring event include day trips led by Cynthia Marion of Travelphile tours to three destinations: San Antonio, Fredericksburg and Schulenberg. A Talk of the Town Sweetheart Dance on February 12 features Al Dressen and his Super Swing Revue at the Wimberley Community Center. March blows with two big events. The ever-popular Trivia Night kicks off March 4 at the Messina Inn in Wimberley. The “Women with Standards” duo of Chick Morgan and Nancy Williams will perform March 6 at Vintage Oaks Farm in Dripping Springs. This April, the 2nd Annual Civic Club Golf Tournament kicks off on the 4th with a four-person race at Quicksand Golf Course in Woodcreek.

“We hope to have offered a wide variety of affordable events that appeal to many,” says Robin Estepp, Spring Events Chair, who, along with Co-Chair, Becky Williams, worked diligently to bring in presenters and round out the details. “Not only do we thank our Civic Club members for sharing their talents and skills in organizing these events, but we also appreciate eighteen Community Presenters who have jumped on the bandwagon with us. »

Rounding out the impressive list are chef-inspired small-group dinners and lunches; cooking and gardening courses; classes on rocks, birds and backyard poultry; game instruction and game of mah jongg, Hand and Foot, “42”, Bunco, Joker and Bridge; sewing, craft and jewelry making programs; flower arranging and woodworking lessons; and other social gatherings in small groups.

Proceeds from these and all Civic Club events go directly to the community in the form of grants to non-profit organizations and scholarships.
