Club chairman admits he would like to re-sign Chelsea, 22

Crystal Palace chairman and co-owner Steve Parish has admitted his club would like to re-sign Chelsea talent Conor Gallagher this summer.

Gallagher, 22, enjoyed a superb campaign during his season-long loan spell with Palace this year.

In fact, the Chelsea loanee even won the award for Palace Player of the Season.

The box-to-box midfielder has definitely taken his game to another level during this year’s loan spell, scoring eight goals and providing five assists in 36 appearances.

It’s no surprise to hear Palace chiefs say they want Gallagher back at Selhurst Park next season.

“We would love for him to come back. We’re not going to pretend he’s not,” Parish said. sky sports.

“Conor will make his own choices, and the club will have something to say about that, but we’ve enjoyed every minute of having him here this season.

“And if that’s all we get from him, and we hope that’s not the case, then he’s been a fantastic asset to the club as a player and as a person as well.”

However, Parish may be bitterly disappointed.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has previously said he believes Gallagher could be part of his first-team plans at Stamford Bridge next season.

He will join the Blues for the pre-season so it will be interesting to see if he can convince Tuchel to keep him.

Frank Lebouef has previously explained that he thinks Gallagher could be a great choice for the squad next season.

Regular England?

If Gallagher is to become a permanent fixture in the England XI, getting a real shot at Chelsea next season should really boost his chances.

He has now won three senior caps under Gareth Southgate for the Three Lions, showing just how big an impact his impact has been at Palace.

However, can he do it at European level with Chelsea?
