ESPN Brazil report that Palmeiras are ready to negotiate Danilo’s departure if he receives a €20m (£17.4m) offer. There are reportedly no offers on the table at the moment, but Arsenal remain interested following their summer move for the player.
In addition to Arsenal, ESPN report that Ajax and AS Monaco are in the hunt for the signing.
The Telegraph recently reported that Arsenal will back Mikel Arteta in January, with reports that he is considering potential central midfield additions.
The same outlet added that Danilo de Palmeiras has been considered for this midfield position, and ryan taylor de l’Express have reported that Arsenal are seriously considering signing the Brazilian after extensive scouting with Edu sparking interest.
Jorge Nicola previously claimed that Arsenal have made an official offer to try and sign Danilo in the summer window. Palmeiras reportedly received an official offer of €25m (£21.8m) on transfer deadline day, which was rejected.
Back then, Palmeiras president Leila Pereira was clear that they wouldn’t sell the player under any circumstances. They wanted to keep him for their Copa Libertadores campaign.
With that campaign now over, the club are more willing to let Danilo go, raising the possibility of Arsenal returning for him in January. Maybe even at a lower price than they had previously offered for him.
