The Delray Beach Swimming and Tennis Club will host a pre-qualifying tournament April 20-21 for the Delray Beach ITF, an event for 18-year-old boys and girls.
The two finalists in the boys’ and girls’ singles will receive wildcards for the qualifying tournament played on April 23 and 24.
“An ITF junior event attracts incredibly strong players from around the world,” said Tournament Director John Butler. “A pre-qualifying tournament opens the door for local players who don’t yet have the experience of traveling abroad and playing with children from different countries. It brings them the world and gives them a first taste of the global game.
The top 64 ranked players who register in each of the boys and girls divisions, based on the UTR, will be accepted into the pre-qualifying event. Matches will be two out of three short sets (7-point tiebreak at 4 games in all), with a 7-point tiebreaker for the third set.
If a player loses in the first round, players will have the option of a consolation match.

The main rounds of the draw will take place from April 25-30.
