DMRC’s Metro Adventure Club hosts a visit to the National War Memorial


As part of the ongoing ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations commemorating 75 years of Indian Independence, DMRC’s Metro Adventure Club organized a visit to the National War Memorial today and also congratulated Yogendra Singh Yadav, winner of the Param Veer Chakra award and hero of the Kargil war.

The event was also honored by Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. He congratulated Subedar Major and Honorary Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav PVC with a miniature subway model and accompanied the subway workers and their families on the visit.

Over 200 attendees comprising of DMRC employees, family members and children toured the National War Memorial for an hour and also interacted with Yogendra Singh Yadav who continued to engage attendees with his war memorabilia. Kargil.

The National War Memorial located near India Gate was opened in 2019 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The monument was constructed to honor and commemorate over 26,000 soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces who have made their supreme sacrifice in defending the sovereignty and integrity of our nation since independence.

The Metro Adventure Club is an initiative of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation launched a few years ago with the aim of promoting knowledge-based adventure and sports activities. Since then, many activities have been organized from time to time such as Heritage Walk to Historical Monuments like Qutab Minar, Red Fort, Heritage Lanes of Old Delhi, Uttarakhand Trip, etc.
