Wausau Driver and Review
Would you like to curl this winter but you don’t know how? The Wausau Curling Club has announced two “Learn to Curl” weekends in October, as well as leagues for beginner curlers.
“Curling is a fun sport,” said Kim Susens, president of the Wausau Curling Club. “It’s a great winter activity that’s not weather-dependent, as we play in our state-of-the-art curling facility.
“It’s a sport for all ages, and we all have a great time together.”
Learn to Curl sessions will take place on Saturday mornings, October 15 and 22, from 9 a.m. to noon. All instruction and equipment provided. The cost is $10 per person. Families are welcome and young people aged 10 to 12 can learn for free.
Participants should wear rubber-soled sports shoes, loose-fitting pants, and dress in layers. The temperature inside the curling area is around 40 degrees.

To help new curlers get started and learn more about curling strategy, the club offers a beginners league on Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. There are also development leagues and a league for curlers under five. years of experience.
League curling begins at the club on October 30 and ends in mid-March.
The Wausau Curling Center is located at 1920 Curling Way on the southeast side of town.
