Major West Ham boost as Club Brugge reportedly replace ‘incredible’ Hans Vanaken

Club Brugge have reportedly fielded a replacement for reported West Ham United target Hans Vanaken.

It depends Nieuwsblad journalist David Van den Broeck who claims the Hammers have increased their offer by £8.5m for the 29-year-old.

The Scot needs to sign an attacking midfielder urgently now. West Ham have had a rocky start to the 2022/23 season and are in desperate need of new blood.

And it looks like Vanaken could be the next new signing to walk through the gate of the London stadium…

West Ham boost as Club Brugge replace Vanaken

Nieuwsblad journalist David Van den Broeck claims the Belgian side are close to signing a ‘full-fledged’ replacement for the 29-year-old.

We have repeatedly insisted that the Belgian midfielder is far from our first choice. But let’s face it, he will be better than what Moyes currently has at his disposal.

The Belgian registered 16 goals and seven assists in 45 games during the 2020/21 season and had 15 goals and 12 assists in 50 outings last season (transfer market).

Standing 6ft 5in, Vanaken is a real unit and has the type of physique needed to succeed in the Premier League.

However, there is a problem for us. The Club Brugge midfielder turns 30 later this month. This obviously does not fit the Red Bull model that David Moyes is supposed to want to implement at the London stadium.

Moving to the Premier League from the Belgian league and succeeding is a difficult task for anyone. Not to mention someone approaching 30.

It will certainly be a tough challenge for the 29-year-old.

We have our doubts, but if Moyes ends up bringing Vanaken to West Ham, we’ll back him 100%.
