Multi-Year Project Launched at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

FORT WORTH, Texas — American Airlines is taking the ability to relax and unwind while traveling to the next level with the redesign of its Admirals Club lounges across the United States. Customers will experience the new design look for the first time at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) this fall. The club’s opening will mark the debut of a reimagined premium Admirals Club design for the world’s largest airline.

“The new Admirals Club interior design is inspired by our customers, who tell us that their favorite part of visiting our lounges is feeling at home,” said Clarissa Sebastian, General Manager of Guest Experience. premium and products on board. “This design is the culmination of a partnership between American and an award-winning architectural firm well known for its designs in the hotel space. Chicago-based DMAC Architecture & Interiors created a unique vision for American. As customers enter, they will be greeted by iconic brand elements and references to local landscapes and landmarks that tell the story of each city and create a sense of place. Wellness will uniquely shine through selective design elements that set a tone of calm and familiarity. Sustainability is also intentionally incorporated into the new design, such as revolving American walnut branding elements in each living room.

“Our goal in working with American is to create a meaningful environment for customers to experience the airline’s inspiring brand and airport lounge in new and fresh ways,” comments Dwayne MacEwen, Founder and Director of DMAC. Architecture & Interiors. “The lounges will comprise a thoughtfully designed collection of memorable spaces, with opportunities for guests to engage, retreat and rejuvenate. The new Admirals Club lounge design offers a bespoke hospitality experience where every detail is taken care of to ensure guests feel cared for at every touch point during their visit.

Admirals Club lounges currently under construction include Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), and Denver International Airport (DEN), which will also feature the new, redesigned design.
