According to the Daily TelegraphLodge recently bought a house on Sydney’s northern beaches, sparking rumors he could join the Manly Sea Eagles.
There is also speculation that Lodge could join the Dolphins in 2023.
The former Bronco has plenty of connections that would make a move to the NRL’s 17th team simple.
Dolphins scouting boss Peter O’Sullivan is Lodge’s stepfather and was also the key figure who brought him to the Warriors, as O’Sullivan was the scouting chief at the time. New Zealand team.
Lodge is also familiar with the Dolphins’ inaugural coach, Wayne Bennett, as the NRL great signed him for the Broncos in 2018 after a three-year absence.
However, the Sydney Morning Herald reports that the Dolphins won’t be able to afford Lodge as the club are already shelling out big bucks to veteran strikers like Felise Kaufusi and the Bromwich brothers.
The Dolphins are also looking to spend a significant amount of money on a marquee point guard, quashing any notion that Lodge could end up in the 17th team next season.
Lodge’s immediate departure from the Warriors continues the massive upheaval of New Zealand players, with Lodge, Chanel Harris-Tavita and Euan Aitken leaving for next season.
However, the Warriors have signed Dylan Walker, Marata Niukore, Mitch Barnett and Luke Metcalf for next season, along with Daejarn Asi, Ronald Volkman and Freddy Lussick who signed for the club in recent weeks.
