ALEXANDRIA, VA – Launching Thursday, April 21 and continuing select Thursdays and Fridays each month, the Nation’s Capital’s only passenger paddle boat, the Potomac Paddle Club, is set to cruise for its second season from Old Town ALEXANDRIA, VA. Alexandria.

Passengers will have the option of sailing southbound under the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, past Jones Point Lighthouse and around channel markers to National Harbor and back or northbound to DC’s Wharf or Navy Yard before returning to the Old Town for a total cruise time of two hours.

The 20-passenger boat with ten bike stations is propelled by a 6-foot paddle wheel powered by passengers pedaling in tandem. He also has an engine, a captain and a sailor to help him. The new boat of this season also has a bathroom on board. All cruises are BYOB and “bring your own food”. Reservations are taken for group tours only and are priced at $75 per person.

The boats are popular for groups, celebrations, bachelor parties, birthdays and company parties. The Potomac Paddle Club provides coolers and ice. Passengers sit on comfortable bike seats that encircle a 10-person mahogany bar as they pedal at their own pace while enjoying monumental views on an intimate cruise with food and drink of their choice. The front of the boat has a seating area where some group members can hang out while their mates fuel the trip.
