Raheem Sterling’s salary at Manchester City will soon be exceeded when he joins Chelsea this summer.

The Manchester City striker has reportedly agreed to personal terms with the Blues, and the official announcement is only a matter of time.

According The telegraph the striker, who was earning £300,000 a week at Manchester City, would now earn slightly more at Chelsea.

Thomas Tuchel was eager to sign the England international after Romelu Lukaku’s loan spell at Inter Milan to bolster the Blues’ attacking ranks.

The Belgian was on a weekly salary of £325,000 at Stamford Bridge. Sterling will now be the club’s biggest earner in his absence. The 27-year-old will also be Todd’s first signing.

N’Golo Kante, who earns £290,000 a week, will be Chelsea’s second highest earner after the England international.

Sterling will leave the Etihad Stadium after a seven-year spell during which he made 339 appearances and contributed 131 goals and 95 assists.

Last season, the 27-year-old striker spent a lot of time on the City bench. On several occasions, Pep Guardiola launched other strikers like Phil Foden and Jack Grealish past him.

At Chelsea, however, he is supposed to be the main man and is guaranteed a starting spot almost every day.

The Blues will fly to the United States for their pre-season tour, which kicks off on July 16, and their new signing is expected to join them.
