CAMDEN – The Camden Rotary Club’s annual Seaside Music Celebration returns to downtown Camden on Monday, July 4, with an afternoon and evening of live performances by Maine musicians.
The Bay Chamber Concerts Jazz Ensemble will kick off the festivities with an hour-long performance at noon on the Village Green.
Music will resume at the Camden Library Amphitheater with the Broadway and popular music of the Casco Bay Wind Symphony from 2-3:15 p.m., singer-songwriter Chris Ross from 4-5 p.m. and danceable rhythm and blues from The Right Track from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. :3 p.m.
As seating is limited, members of the public are encouraged to bring lounge chairs and blankets. (If rain is forecast for July 4, some bands will perform on July 3 instead.)
“With the support of our generous sponsors, we have been bringing people together on Independence Day for over 25 years and we look forward to the fourth,” Camden Rotary President Jonathan Goss said in a press release. “We invite everyone to join us for great music and good times with their families and friends.”
Thanks to donations from generous sponsors, Music by the Sea is always free to the public. In addition to funding the event, sponsorships support the club’s annual grants to nonprofit organizations in Knox County and Lincolnville.
This year the club provided grants to MCH Meals on Wheels, Knox County Homeless Coalition, Hurricane Island Center for Science and Leadership, Sundog Outdoor Expeditions’ School Outdoor Expedition Program, Merryspring Nature Center’s two-week Summer Ecology Camp for young children , and the Knox County Health Clinic (Mid-Coast Health Net, Inc.) Bring smiles to our children’s program.
Sponsorships from this year’s celebration will help fund next year’s round of grants to nonprofits and youth programs. For more information about the club, visit https://www.camdenrotary.org.
