Positive Life, Northern Ireland’s only charity dedicated to supporting people affected by HIV, has launched a brand new revenue generation model with the aim of raising £500,000 over the next few years.

or 35 years now, Positive Life has been making a difference in the lives of people living with HIV in Northern Ireland as a driving force in research and campaigning.

Today, the ambitious charity led by Chief Executive Jacquie Richardson is looking beyond traditional funding sources to dramatically expand its operations and reach.

“For us, partnership and collaboration have always been at the heart of what we do, so focusing on corporate giving was a natural next step,” says Jacquie.

The Northern Ireland Buyers Club is a new membership-based corporate fundraising campaign to bring together individuals and organizations to support Positive Life’s aims of modernizing societal attitudes towards HIV and putting end the stigma, while contributing to the organization’s annual growth along the way. .

“Operating in an often challenging funding landscape, we have felt limited in our ability to influence the social change needed to the way we think about HIV here in Northern Ireland. The Northern Ireland Buyers Club will allow us to get out of these financial constraints and build a dynamic network of corporate donors.

Although it only launched in March, Jacquie has already welcomed a host of new supporters from the retail and hospitality sectors, as well as professional services. “Our launch event at Belfast City Hall was a turning point for us. We were able to really get the business world’s attention on the Buyers Club,” she says.

“In recent weeks we have also seen interest from prominent figures working in legal services, accountancy, tax advice and banking, both in Northern Ireland and beyond.”

As part of the Northern Ireland Buyers Club, supporters commit to a five-year membership and in doing so enable the continued growth and expansion of the Club by gaining support from other interested parties.

“Our ongoing recruitment strategy will allow us to significantly increase our financial resilience and long-term sustainability. We will be in a better position to plan ahead, commission research, launch services and programs, and grow our networks.

The Buyers Club will offer potential members a range of bespoke corporate giving packages. They will have access to a range of benefits, including personalized e-learning materials, enhanced corporate visibility opportunities and a dedicated relationship manager.

“At Positive Life, we have always been ambitious,” says Jacquie. “Fundamentally, we want to bring about real change and provide the best possible outcomes for anyone affected by HIV. The Northern Ireland Buyers Club aims to scale up this ambition so that we can have a lasting social impact.
